Centro de Investigação e Intervenção Social (CIS)
CIS is a not-for-profit research centre that develops research, research-based intervention and scientific training in psychology, focusing on social and organizational psychology within the framework of the social sciences. It is recognized by the Portuguese national science foundation (FCT - www.fct.mctes.pt) as a Unit of R&D, and has the status of an associated research unit of the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE – www.iscte.pt). It is closely linked to the Department of Social and Organizational Psychology of ISCTE (DEPSO - www.dpso.iscte.pt), and its Laboratory of Social and Organizational Psychology (LAPSO). Founded in 1989, CIS has over 60 researchers, and is still growing.

Department of Social and Organizational Psychology
Social and Organizational Psychology has been a part of ISCTE since its foundation in 1972, under the name of Psycho-sociology and Human Resources. With the growth of this area, the Autonomous Section of Social and Organizational Psychology was set up in 1991 and became a Department in September 1999. The Social and Organizational Psychology Department is a unit of ISCTE and, as such, its aim is to carry out teaching and research activities in the scientific field of Psychology, focusing particular attention on Social and Organizational Psychology. In addition to research, the Social and Organizational Psychology Department coordinates courses in Psychology which are in three cycles in line with the Bologna Declaration: the bachelor degree in Psychology (3 years); the Masters in Social and Organizational Psychology, in Organizational Behavior, and in Community Intervention and Child Protection (2 years); and the PhD in Psychology (3 years).

Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL)
ISCTE-IUL is a public university institute acting in the domains of education, research, and community service providing. It has approximately 6000 students, 400 teachers, and 200 employees. ISCTE offers 16 bachelor programs in the areas of management, social, and technological sciences, as well as a great number of post-graduate, master, and doctoral programs. Founded in 1972, ISCTE is justly recognized for the lasting contributions made during the last the 34 years. These contributions are the result of a clearly defined set of priorities both in education and in research: innovation, quality, and diversity.
